Roller Bit Core Barrel
Your core barrel with Roller Bit utilizes high-carbon steel and a unique drilling angle to maintain drilling strength and efficiency.
Applicable Geological Formations
Suitable for formations like dense sand, gravel, and medium-hard rocks.
Bullet-toothed core barrels cut circular rings in rock or concrete (including reinforced concrete).
Roller Bit Core Barrel are for extremely robust rock formations (compressive strength >100MPa).
Cross-cutter core barrels are primarily for breaking remnants in the borehole after coring. Suitable for hard, jointed rocks (<100MPa) and penetrating boulder-laden strata.
The Roller Bit Core Barrel has four or more gears, with main cutting teeth featuring new wear-resistant alloy tungsten carbide blades and steel teeth. A new formula and process for high-quality hard alloy teeth enhance the lifespan of the Roller Bit Core Barrel. Guiding devices include gear drill heads or scraper drill heads.
Bearing seals use high-performance O-ring seals or metal-sealed bearings with imported drill head-specific lubricating grease.
Special inserts on the head's outer diameter reduce wear during the abrasive formation process, extending the drill bit's lifespan.
Cost-effective tool replacement is possible in most auger designs. The cost of replacing tools is only a fraction of replacing large three-gear drill heads.
Compared to rock auger or bucket drilling, Roller Bit Core Barrel drilling is a more effective method for drilling hard rock. It cuts a circular groove only on hard rock surfaces, unlike rock augers that cut the entire surface. It then extracts a core of rock using a specially designed Roller Bit Core Barrel.
In piling foundation projects, there are typically two types of core barrels: gear drill core barrels and RSC (Round Shank Chisel) core barrels. Gear drill core barrels are suitable for low-fracture, ultra-hard rocks with UCS above 80MPa. RSC core barrels are mainly used for rock drilling work where UCS is less than 80MPa. Both are used to cut a circular space in the rock and extract the core.
The penetration rate depends on various factors, including RQD, CR, UCS, operation, and Roller Bit Core Barrel design. Overall, for low-weathered granite with UCS above 110MPa, the output can range between 0.3m-0.7m/h. Improving Roller Bit Core Barrel design is highly recommended for optimal output.
Roller Bit Core Barrel lengths typically range from 1.5m to 3m, designed for rock drilling in piling and foundation projects. This data does not include the length of square drill rod boxes and is primarily tailored to core barrel diameters of 800-1800mm. Efficiency in drilling is lower when the net length is less than 1.2m.
