High Performance PDC Drills

PDC bits are carefully designed to be used in a variety of drilling formations and applications while providing smooth, consistent torque. PDC bits are ideal for directional drilling, thanks to a compact, one-piece profile and proprietary PDC tool technology that They provide the ultimate in maneuverability. Our PDC drill bit cutting structure complements the Accelglide, enabling our customers to increase downhole efficiency.

Matrix PDC

Matrix fixed tools contain tungsten carbide material, which provides better wear and corrosion resistance. Higher tool counts also allow them to be heavier.

In high fluid volume or high sand applications, matrix bits provide longer life and multiple bit runs.

Steel Body PDC

High alloy steel includes a steel body to hold the body of the tool, often making them repairable and suitable for multiple runs.

They are typically manufactured with higher insert spacing and tool exposure because the steel can withstand higher impact forces than the base body. This design feature increases the ROP.

Drilling involves cost - a major factor - and the cost of the substrate is higher than steel. In addition, the additional pdc tool adds to the total cost of the pdc drill bit. These two factors make the matrix more expensive than the steel body.
